Forgiveness: Unconditional?

Today in order to let you know I haven't died, I direct your attention to Tim Challies' blog, where he has written a provocative article on forgiveness: whether God dispenses it unconditionally and whether we should dispense it unconditionally. Tim Challies is, as far as I know, the most popular Reformed Christian blogger out there. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

I think that there is something amiss in this statement:
"But we will not forgive those who are not repentant. This makes sense when we understand that, in its fullest sense, forgiveness requires repentance." For even Jesus said on the cross, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". So even when soemone does not repent and ask foregiveness it is extended. Foregiveness is not just for the benefit of the offender but more importantly the offended. A good friend once said, take the "I' out of bitter and you'll get better. - Mom
